To ensure the highest level of precision, optimal clinical fit, and rapid turnaround times, please follow these technical specifications when submitting cases to NeoDX Milling.
1. For "Milling & Finishing Only" (CAD-Ready Files)
If your lab handles its own CAD design and you are sending files strictly for premium milling and finishing, please adhere to these strict mechanical parameters:
File Format: We accept open-architecture, standard STL (.stl) format files. The file must contain only the independent geometry of the restoration.
Design Software Compatibility: While we accept universal STL files from any open CAD platform, files generated via Exocad and 3Shape deliver the most reliable nesting translation.
Tool Radius Compensation: This is the most critical factor for an accurate fit. Your CAD software must be configured assuming a Tool Radius of 0.65 mm. Designing internal geometries tighter than this parameter will cause the milling burs to over-mill or prevent the restoration from seating correctly on the die.
2. For "Design & Mill" Services (Raw Scans)
If you are outsourcing the digital design to our team, please ensure your digital impressions meet the following criteria before uploading:
Required Components: Every standard case requires three distinct, clear data files: Upper Arch, Lower Arch, and Bite Registration.
The ZIP Rule: To ensure your files remain paired and to speed up processing, please compress all files associated with a single case into a single .ZIP archive before hitting upload.
File Management: Name your ZIP files clearly with the patient's name or case ID (e.g., Smith_John_Case123.zip). Ensure individual file sizes remain under 25MB to prevent timeout errors during the upload process.
3. Direct Intra-Oral Scanner (IOS) Integrations
If you are a clinical practice utilizing an intra-oral scanner, you do not need to manually export and upload files. You can connect directly to NeoDX Milling inside your system's portal:
Supported Portals: Add NeoDX Milling as a preferred lab partner in your Medit Link, 3Shape Communicate, iTero, or Dexis network.
The Pairing Process: Once you transmit the raw data via your scanner's portal, please complete the matching order form on neodxmilling.com. Ensure the Case ID or Patient Name matches exactly on both platforms so our system can instantly pair your digital prescription with the scan.
Pro Tip: Missing margins, distorted bite registrations, or incomplete scans will delay production. Always review your 3D mesh for holes or scanning artifacts before finalizing your submission to NeoDX Milling.
